Basingstoke Coaching Clinic Schedule

This clinic is for experienced competition players rated 3.5 DUPR or over. The clinic will help you develop the essential skills across your game to discover your best playing style. You’ll learn to play to yours and your partner’s strengths, you’ll understand the advantages of stacking at the higher levels and learn which side of the court your game is most effective. We’ll cover the most important skills required on both court sides when at the Kitchen Line, transitioning to the line, after serving and returning as well as stacking effectively to match your play style and why to do it.
Morning Session 9am-12pm:
Dinking:
Dinking creatively and attacking
Defensive dinking
Play to your strengths at the Kitchen Line and find your most effective court side
Speeding up, find your best attacking play
Transitioning to the Net:
Dropping from both sides and defending against spin and pace
Drives and Drips
Reading play, moving forward to attack and retreating to defend
3rd and 5th shots decision making, including Poaching and Ernes
Afternoon session 1:30pm-4:30pm:
Counters and defensive positioning:
Countering off both sides
Reading speed ups and preparing, when to counter and when to reset
Mid-court resetting
Preventing opponents from reaching net:
4th shot attacking and Roll volleys, attacking off both wings
High balls and overheads, finishing the point
Court positioning when attacking and who takes which shots
Taking Control of the point early:
Returning and unwinding the stack
Early attacking opportunities
